Hi, my name is Rachel and I blog over at Once Upon a Sewing Machine with my blog and design partner, and mom, Donna.
We do a lot of sewing for my two little ones. Lately I’ve started a new adventure, maternity sewing, which is naturally leading to newborn sewing.
I was in a sewing break when I had my first two so the tiny sewing has been a little bit of a new adventure. It’s amazing after nearly 5 years how TINY baby clothes are. After I sewed up my first onsie my husband asked if I was sewing doll clothes!
Today I’m sharing a free pattern with you based on our new release, the Harvey Vneck. It’s a 0-3 month pattern ideal for little ones 8-13 pounds.
We don’t know if we are expecting a girl or a boy, but I have two sister-in-laws due with in a week so somebody will probably need a purple shirt right? It’s going to be baby-balooza in our family!
This is the first time we haven’t known the gender in advance so we have limited gender neutral outfits, they are hard to find, I’m glad to be able to sew up my own. This little tee is easily adapted to either girls or boys. The Vneck allows extra room for their noggins to go through without it being to squishy.

Thanks for having us Jess and congrats on your new little one!
