The pattern is from Ottobre 3/2012 Hoops Shirt. I’ve used this pattern so many times, and it never disappoints. I traced size 110 and added 2″ of length for my slim girl. I also did a bit of colourblocking on the front; check out a tutorial here for how I did it!
The fabric are amazing Stenzo knits from L’Oiseau Fabrics. These knits are imported from the Netherlands and are a thick cotton lycra. You can find the bird print here. While they are a bit pricier than regular knits, I’ve never had any of these fade or shrink, and I know I will be able to pass this shirt down to my second daughter to give it a second season.
For cooler days, she can pair it with a fun fur vest I sewed up this spring. I have a FREE pattern for it in size 5/6; you can find it here.
Just for fun, here are some shots in the canola field behind our house…
I scored on some Old Navy clearance jeans so one outfit down and I hope to do at least 3 more in the next few weeks!
