Meet my second daughter. She is smart, always up for a challenge, and never stops laughing. And she’s messy. Very messy.
Clothing for her is a mere casualty in her life’s adventures. It gets worn, trashed, and must be comfortable above all else. So when sewing for back to school, I look for comfortable clothing, washable, and darker colours or busy prints. This outfit checks all those things!
The bottoms are the Gracious Threads Lazy Lounge Pants. They are sewn as drafted, with a size 6 width and 8 length. I sewed them out of this beautiful floral french terry from Water Tower Textiles and the flat drawstring is from Fringe Fabrics, both great Canadian companies.
For the top I did the quick version of the Gracious Threads Rainbow Tee. It is such a fast sew, with only 2 pattern pieces. I used a medium weight black cotton lycra from Black Rabbit Fabrics and decorated the front with heat transfer vinyl cut with a design I bought from the Silhouette Design Store.
