My youngest is absolutely obsessed with Cookie Monster. Last year, Grandma bought her a Cookie Monster t-shirt for her birthday, but it is now so short and so stained it got snuck into the garbage pail. Well, my observant two year old quickly discovered it was missing, and demanded a replacement!
I created this shirt by finding an image online and appliqueing it on a shirt that I made. The shirt was upcycled from one of my old shirts; I kept the hem so this shirt has a nice coverstitched hem. I used the Puffis shirt from Ottobre 3/2008. The only change I made was to use fold over elastic instead of bindings and I left off the button on the back of the key hole since I new the neck opening is wide enough anyway on this pattern.
Later this week I will post a tutorial on how I created the applique.
