We had a wonderful time this past spring break on holidays but I am happy to be home and reacquaint myself with my sewing room!
Today is day 1 of Kid’s Clothes Week. The goal is to sew for at least an hour every day for a whole week. I am not sure if I will be able to every day; we’ll see how the week goes!
The theme for this season’s KCW is “Mini Me”. This little basketball outfit is a stretch, since neither myself or my husband have any aspirations as an athlete, but we can hope that our little guy has some talent 🙂
I had the privilege of testing these two patterns for an up and coming designer called Patterns for Pirates. Her designs are very kid friendly and wearable and I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with in the future.
These are the Buccaneer Basketball Shorts. They come in two different views (I also sewed up the other one, and will share once the pattern is released) and in sizes 3 months to 16. I sewed up the size 18 months.
The top is the Me Matey Muscle Tank, also by Patterns by Pirates. It is such an easy sew; I think it took me 40 minutes, including printing and cutting out the pattern!
So the sewing was a success, but the photoshoot with my little model was not. A bit of a disaster from start to finish, but at least you can see what they look like on!
These are both great patterns and I encourage you to check out her shop and watch for their release.
