I’ve always been on the fence about rompers for little boys. At what age do they just look odd? I’ve never sewn a woven romper before, but decided to give it a try for my almost 2 year old.
The pattern I chose was the Pat a cake romper by Peekaboo Pattern Shop. The pattern went together easily, and the instructions were clear. I like that the neckline is nicely finished with bias tape.
I traced a size 2T and he has about an inch or two of extra torso room, but hopefully that means he’ll be able to wear it all summer.
The print was the inspiration for this project. It is a Riley Blake print, from the Military Max collection. I used my open ring metal snaps for the front and crotch opening.
What are your thoughts? At what age are rompers for little boys no longer appropriate? I think my little guy is absolutely adorable, and I’m so glad I made this one for him!
