I’m very excited to share with the latest top I’ve sewn for myself! I had the opportunity to test for Once Upon a Sewing Machine again (you can see the Button Up jumper I made for my daughter here). There aren’t too many stylish, well fitting maternity patterns out there, and this is one of them! It also comes in child and non-maternity versions. (Note that this is the first tester version; the fit through the neck and shoulders has been improved)
The Thumbs Up tee is plenty long enough to cover my tummy, and has enough growing room to take me to 9 months, even though I am quite tall.
The arm panels add a great design element and provide an opportunity for colour blocking and mixing prints.
My favourite part of this pattern has to be the thumb holes! The first time I glanced at the instructions, I felt lost, but a careful reading and following them step by step resulted in a perfect cuff the first time. For visual learners, they also provide a step by step video on their blog.
This pattern is scheduled to be published on XX.
