Today I am sharing with you the last pattern I’ve sewn up from the Perfect Pattern Parcel. The Sunki dress is a fashion forward dress that is designed to be sewn with a woven fabric. It features really neat in seam front pockets, and the design lends itself to some fun colourblocking with the side panels.
The fabric I chose was some autumn themed fine wale corduroy. I bought it at a local fabric store several years ago for another project, but I’m glad I never ended up using it because it was perfect for this dress.
The only change I made was to do an exposed zipper in the back. The mustard colour zipper is a perfect compliment to the corduroy, and I didn’t want it hidden out of sight! The dress is also slightly big on my model. I cut a size 6/7 for my 5 year old, but should have gone with the 4/5.
I’m not going to lie; this dress is for a more experienced seamstress or someone who has a lot of determination! While the only difficult part are the pockets, this step is right at the beginning and I found myself really having to work hard to understand the directions. But, if you follow it step by step, it comes together amazingly and the rest is smooth sailing!
The Perfect Pattern Parcel is almost gone for good, so get yours today! Remember, you choose the price and help out a charitable cause at the same time; this way everyone wins!
