Project Run and Play is back! This is the second season that I’ve sewn along and I’m excited to share with you some great outfits in the next 4 weeks.
The theme for this week is 80’s cartoons. This one stumped me at first, since we didn’t really watch much tv as kids. But when we did, our favourite show was the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show! One of the characters that got the most laughs from us was the Roadrunner.
The Roadrunner debuted on TV much earlier in the 1960’s, but was featured off and on until very recently. So while it may not be iconically 80’s, I’m still counting it!
To create a Roadrunner look, I took my Traveller Tee pattern and freezer paper stencilled the ‘beep beep’ on the front. On the arm, I embroidered an outline of the Roadrunner on my regular sewing machine. The side colourblocked panels (part of the pattern!) are inspired by the big bird’s wings.
Becuase winter is nearly upon us, I lengthened the sleeves of the Traveller Tee. And because I appreciate all my readers, I’m making this available to all of you! You can download the pattern for the long sleeve here.
If you would like to purchase the full pattern (short sleeve included!) you can on the One Thimble website. This pattern is available on its own for $7.50* or part of the One Thimble magazine*, along with many other great patterns!
