I did some more sewing for me! I’ve been informed that it is not ‘selfish sewing’, but rather ‘self care sewing’, but here it is in either case. Today my photographer was my 4 year old, not sure it it is an improvement on my husband’s attempt or not…
I used the California Dress pattern (affiliate link) from EYMM. This is my 3rd time sewing up this pattern; I did it for my daughter here and used it to make a top for myself here.
I traced a size XL according to my measurements, but it turned out much wider than I prefer. I kept the XL sizing at the bust but tapered in to about a size M through the waist and hips.
The fabric is from Girl Charlee (affiliate link) and is a nice light weight jersey. It doesn’t have much stretch, but drapes well and is perfect for this project.
What is neat about this pattern is that the front is a simple scoop neck, but the back features a halter style neckline. This dress can actually be worn with either neckline in the front.
