Yes, I did some sewing for me! I actually do quite a bit, but since I can’t very well take pictures of myself, I don’t often share. This time my husband took a few quick pics for me.
I wanted an outfit that was comfortable to wear around the house but still decent enough that I wouldn’t be embarrased if someone popped in for a visit. These two patterns from Bundle Up were just what I was looking for! (This is not a sponsored post, I paid for these patterns).
The top is the Love Notions Ladies Hip Hop Tee and Tank. I sewed the basic tank with hi-lo hem and used a lightweight cotton lycra from Girl Charlee. I cut and sewed an XL based on my measurements, but I think next time I will go down to the L since I prefer a more fitted look.
The shorts are the Greenstyle Taylor shorts. I am SO happy with the way they turned out. They are comfy, easy to sew, and fit well. I did the medium length and a tab closure. A work of caution: use the size chart! I normally wear a 14, but my measurements fit into the size 12. I did the 12, and am glad since the 14 would have been WAY too big.
The zipper insertion technique was new to me (I normally follow a different method) but the instructions and photographs were so clear I was able to get it right the first try. The fabric is a cotton sateen with a slight stretch I found on the discount shelf at Fabricland.
I have plans for another pair, this time in denim.
Both patterns are available today from their designers so you can grab a copy in case you missed out!
