I wanted to share with you some sewing I did for myself last week. I do sew more often for myself, but finding a photographer is tricking so I rarely share. A friend gave me a tripod, so I wanted to try it out. Unfortunately the tripod only goes about 3.5′ tall, so the angle is a bit odd and unflattering.
This first top was a super quick sew. I used some leftover cotton lycra from another project and the free Maria Denmark Kirsten Kimono Tee pattern. I think next time I will attempt a FBA (full bust adjusment) on this one.
Next, I grabbed my tried and true tee pattern: Jalie 2805. I’ve probably made over a dozen of these for myself in the past few years, and the fit is always spot on.
The only change I made was to lower the neckline significantly and bind it instead of using ribbing.
This version is done from a grey burnout jersey knit.
And this one is a bit of a stretch for me, I normally don’t wear prints, but I think I’m happy with how it turned out.
Lastly, I sewed up a Lotus Blossom Shrug from Rabbit Rabbit Creations (dress is from Rickis). I tested this pattern last week for my daughter (see those pictures here) and wanted to try the adult version as well. I left off the ruffle and did plain rather than gathered sleeves. I’m happy with how it turned out.
Just a heads up if you buy this pattern: the designer is Australian and the sizes are much different than North American sizes (I chose the 2X based on my bust measurement…ouch…).
