Recently I had the pleasure of trying out a new sewing skill: free motion embroidery. Jeanine from StitchART asked me to try out her Charlie the Veg Girl applique pattern and I jumped at the chance.
The pattern is very affordable ($3.89 USD) and includes everything you need to begin free motion embroidery. This was my first time trying anything like this (although I have done free motion quilting before) and the pdf includes everything you need. Supply lists, step by step instructions, and full size template give even the absolute beginner enough confidence to attempt this fun project.
Included in the pattern is directions on how to scale the pattern to create different sizes. I used the pattern at 80% as I thought that would be a good size for a tee. This was a great project to use those tiny scraps of woven fabric. The downside is that now I’ll never throw anything out!
